Our Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives
Our Gender Diversity Initiatives
Pegasus Airlines aims to lead gender balance action among airlines.
To underline our emphasis on women's roles in the workplace, gender balance, and equality, we were the first airline to join the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles. We conduct studies as a full member of the Turkish General Directorate of Civil Aviation's Gender Balance Development Commission. We support platforms such as Yanındayız (In Support) Association, Wtech Women in Technology Association, PWN Istanbul, and the Women in Sales platform. We also continue to name our new aircraft after the newborn baby girls of our employees.
In 2019, we became one of the first airlines in the world to join IATA's "25by2025" initiative, a voluntary campaign for IATA member airlines to improve female representation in the industry by 25%, or up to a minimum of 25% by 2025. Our Board of Directors revised our "Policy on Representation in the Board of Directors'' as a solid commitment to the campaign, stating there would be a minimum female representation of 25% on the Board of Directors by 2025.
On 30 September 2022, this 25% target for the Board of Directors was met, and the overall female employment ratio across the organisation rose above 30% in 2022. We are now considering more initiatives and will continue to support actions to raise awareness among women concerning opportunities in aviation and enhance women's quantitative and qualitative impact and effectiveness in the aviation industry.
Our Employee Development Initiatives

With this focus on helping people reach their full potential, Pegasus Academy provides various L&D Programs such as Leadership Programs, Coaching, Mentoring & Reverse Mentoring, MBAs, Young Talent Programs, Agile Trainings, Conferences, Summits, Workshops, and many more.
Our Flight Academy also collaborates with universities and approved training organisations to train and attract new cockpit and cabin crew members while continuing to train and improve the skills of other employees.
